Corporate Social Responsibility
At VegBox PLC, we believe that sustainable growth must go hand in hand with social responsibility. Our operations are not only guided by strict international standards — every year we undergo independent FSS audits that place strong emphasis on human rights, food security, and workers’ rights — but also by a deep commitment to the communities surrounding our farms.
Beyond compliance, we actively invest in projects that create lasting benefits for people in our region.
Through these initiatives, VegBox PLC strives to create shared value: advancing our business while improving the quality of life, resilience, and opportunities for the communities around us.
CSR Programms
Education for the Next Generation
In partnership with the NGO Zukunft Afrika e.V., we have built three schools that now provide access to education for up to 500 children. This initiative helps ensure that the youngest members of our community have the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
Infrastructure for Connectivity and Safety
We constructed a 6km road linking the main road to the village of Agume including a bridge over a 6m deep gorge. For the first time, buses, local transportation, and ambulances can reach the community. This road not only improves daily life but also strengthens access to healthcare, markets, and opportunities.
Water for Growth and Resilience
Currently, we are building a 12.5 km irrigation canal from the Manisa river to the farm. While it will support our farm, it is also designed to benefit around 200 smallholder farmers in the region by providing reliable water access beyond the rainy season, these farmers will be able to triple their production and secure a sustainable livelihood. We also started a training program including the distribution of high value seedlings to include them into an Outgrower program.
